DEPRESSION IN YOUTH
Today, I will shed some light on the problem of depression. Depression is one of the most common issues occurring in one’s life.
But isn’t there a question mark on why youth suffer with it,
aren’t they too young for it? Though, yes, they are but the world exerts
pressure on them, contributing to their susceptibility to depression.
There are several factors that lead a child toward depression.
Firstly, the failure in academics led them towards a disappointment from family
and from their own selves or might be a pressure from school loads of projects
and assignments that are more than they are capable of doing. Secondly, social
media influence means that When a child idealizes a celebrity or idol, they
perceive themselves as inferior, leading to a loss of self-confidence. Plus,
they get bullied by their own circle on social media on their physical
appearance, skills and many more such factors. Thirdly, family dynamics which
apparently means that the environment that a child is getting from their family
is not what a child wants such as, parental issues, financial crisis, a child's
need might be impacted also, they might feel discontent comparing their
lifestyle to others who appear more affluent.
Moreover, the most essential factor is when a child feels
isolated, that means, when a child finds himself lonely and has been isolated
from one room to another, just separated from the entire world. This makes a
child more depressed usually, at this point of life that one feels to cry the
heart out but he couldn’t because there is a lot going on in their mind
therefore, it leads them towards depression. It is essential for a child to
overcome it as soon as one can. Parents should create a friendly environment
support, there are a great number of doctors sitting into clinics for mental
therapy and that works. Lastly, a clear mind contributes to clear health.
