THE IMPORTANCE OF OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

 

Children these days have busy schedules with school and studies. They may experience a lot of stress and suffer from mental depression. Outdoor activities at school and at home can definitely help children reduce stress and improve their moods. Playing sports on the playground, running, jumping, and cycling with friends have numerous benefits for children’s health.

Children learn how to behave as members of a group. They learn how to follow rules and gain self-control skills. They cooperate with one another and learn to share. They also become self-confident and independent.

The most important reason why outdoor activities should be adopted is the physical health of children. Children stay indoors and keep themselves busy playing online games, using the internet, and watching television. This creates laziness in them, causes weak eyesight, obesity, and other mental and muscular diseases. By performing outdoor activities, their muscles will become stronger, their mental and physical health will improve, obesity will reduce, and they will enjoy a natural and healthy environment.

From this discussion, it follows that schools must arrange outdoor activities on a regular basis. Parents should also take time to bring their children outside for outdoor activities so they can become healthier, smarter, and enjoy the environment, creating memories for when they grow up.
