THE EARTH IS OUR DUTY
The earth, filled with beauty,
And to preserve it is our duty.
And yet the whistles of the breeze flowing through
the tree,
Are replaced by the polluted streets of
overpopulated cities.
The oceans with their beautiful fish, And yet
for us they are nothing more than a dish...
The birds soar through the skies like the
elegant creatures they are,
Choked by the smoke emitted from the machine
we call a car.
The animals of the land, their magnificence
untold,
Yet their butchering sees no end; how could we
be so cold?
The clouds look so peaceful and just,
Yet we blacken them with our charcoal dust...
The animals are not spared as nobody listens
to their cries,
For we are humans; we only look at the
prize...
The deer and the elk, their beauty is without
bounds,
Yet we hunt them down because their heads are
worth pounds...
Now tell me, will you turn this world around?
Or, will you burn it to the ground?
