ECLIPSED IN FROST

Nights covered with snow,

Soft and pretty they glow.

But in their beauty, a pain we know,

A love lost in the cold, left to grow.

The glaciers melt, but not my heart,

It freezes with every tear, torn apart.

Your beauty shines, but it’s a curse,

For fate has chosen to disperse.

The winds howl, but they don’t call,

They echo the silence, the quiet fall.

Begging for your love, it’s all I do,

A heart so fragile, bound to you.

Your warmth was a dream I couldn’t keep,

Now only shadows and promises I weep.

In the frost, I hold your name,

A fire that flickers, but never flames.

How do I move when you’re so far,

How do I heal when you’re a scar?

I beg the night to swallow my cries,

But still, in the cold, my heart denies.

This love, frozen, never to bloom,

A slow death in the silent gloom.

I beg, I ache, I fight, I fall,

But I will never escape it all.
